Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from the text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out or save them to your desktop to use as you wish.

Because the Wordle web toy no longer works for most people, you might want to try installing a desktop version on your Mac or Windows computer. The desktop version is the same as the old web version. You’ll have to work around various scary security warnings because the app installers aren’t signed.
